Does Boo at the Zoo at the St. Louis Zoo require costumes?

Costumes are not necessary for St. Louis' Boo at the Zoo. However, as of 2014, children up to age 12 who arrive in costume receive $1 off the cost of admission.

Boo at the Zoo is a Halloween celebration sponsored by zoos across the nation. The St. Louis Zoo participates and stays open late several nights in October leading up to Halloween. In 2014, Boo at the Zoo began October 17, and the zoo opened for the event from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m every weeknight through October 30. Boo at the Zoo offers family-friendly activities, including campfire story-telling and arts and crafts. For an additional cost, kids could also take a spooky guided hike or ride the Halloween-themed carousel.
