The Boone and Crockett Club scores measure the size of big game animals taken by hunters. The club uses these scores along with other data to evaluate the effectiveness of wildlife management policies.

The Boone and Crockett Club only scores game animals - including several species of deer, elk, bear, moose and caribou - taken in compliance with federal and state laws by hunters with proper licenses. The organization also scores musk ox, Rocky Mountain goat, two species of walrus and four species of sheep. The Boone and Crockett Club lists animals that meet the all-time minimum score for their species in the "Records of North American Big Game" book.
