When was Boost Mobile founded?

Boost Mobile was founded in 2000, serving Australia and New Zealand. In 2001, founders Peter Adderton, Kirt McMaster and Craig Cooper formed a joint venture with Nextel Communications and brought Boost Mobile to the United States. Boost Mobile was purchased by Nextel in 2004.

Boost Mobile was initially known for its unlimited push-to-talk feature at $1 per day when most other mobile plans did not offer unlimited talk plans. In 2006, Nextel was acquired by Sprint, which forced Boost Mobile as a subsidiary. With this merge, Boost Mobile began to offer an unlimited service using Sprint's CDMA network, which provided unlimited talk, text and Internet to select markets.
