What is BPA?
By Forinfos - 02/02/2026 - 0 comments
BPA is short for Bisphenol A. BPA is a chemical used in large quantities in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Polycarbonate plastic is found in food and drink packaging and in water bottles, and epoxy resins are found in lacquers used to coat metal.
Possible health side effects are associated with exposure to BPA, primarily for children. These include brain development delay, behavioral delay and prostate gland problems in infants and children. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has declared that BPA is safe at low levels but continues to assess its risks. BPA has been in use since the 1960s.
