What is a Breyer horse?

A Breyer horse is a collectible handmade horse figurine made by Breyer Animal Creations, which is owned by Reeves International. As of 2013, Breyer Animal Creations was the largest line owned by the company.

Each Breyer horse starts as an individual artist's sculpture. Each horse figurine is formed from a metal mold and then hand finished. The horses are airbrushed and then hand detailed with a small paint brush.

Some Breyer model horses are made of porcelain for display, and others are made of plastic or resin for display or play. Breyer horses are sold in toy stores, tack shops and agricultural businesses.
