What is a Browning BLR?

The BLR is a lever-action rifle manufactured by Browning. The company markets it to hunters, billing it as having greater power and accuracy than other lever-action rifles while still being quick to handle and easy to carry.

The BLR is available in calibers ranging from .22-250 Remington to .450 Marlin. It was designed by Karl R. Lewis and first produced in the 1960s. Modern BLR rifle models use a four-round box receiver for ammunition, which allows the use of bullets with pointed tips. The original design was made of steel, but modern BLR rifles are made from aircraft-grade aluminum alloy.
