What are bullmastiff puppies?

The bullmastiff is a large breed developed in England in the 1860s by crossing mastiffs with bulldogs. It has been recognized by the English Kennel Club since 1924 and by the American Kennel Club since 1934.

Bullmastiffs belong to the Working Group of the AKC. They are large, powerful dogs originally bred to assist gamekeepers in apprehending poachers. They are good family dogs but require obedience training and consistent, firm handling. They are also used for police and army work and as watchdogs. They are slow-maturing dogs that take up to 3 1/2 years to reach full size, but they have only a median life span of 7 to 8 years.
