Business days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They do not include the weekend days of Saturday and Sunday. Federal and state holidays are not counted as business days.
Another way to describe a business day is a working day. Couriers use business days to describe the amount of time a package takes to arrive to the customer. The general hours of a business day are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Financial institutions use business days to describe how long a deposit takes to post in an account or for a transaction to post. Any day that the financial market is open for trading is a business day.
