Does caffeine raise your blood pressure?

The use of caffeine may cause a dramatic increase in the blood pressure of a person. People who drink more than four cups of coffee in a day have a higher risk of getting an increase in blood pressure, as stated by NHS.
It is not yet clear how caffeine causes an increase in blood pressure, as stated by Mayo Clinic. Caffeine can increase the stiffness of large arteries in people with hypertension. Different researchers have different opinions on the effect of caffeine on blood pressure. Some believe that it increases the production of adrenaline, which increases blood pressure. Others state that caffeine blocks the hormone that allows the arteries to stay widened.
