Is there a "do-not-call" registry in Canada?

Canada does have its own do-not-call registry, the National Do Not Call List. Registration can occur online at the National Do Not Call List website or by calling 1-866-580-DNCL from the number that is to be registered.
Any number can be registered and added to the National Do Not Call List, even fax numbers. It can take up to a month for the new number to be processed with telemarketers. Organizations that are not considered telemarketers may still call numbers that appear on the do not call list. Non-telemarketers exempt from the do not call list include registered charities, political organizations, and newspaper subscription departments.
