Can aloe vera be applied on pimples?

The aloe vera plant is considered a healing plant by many. However there is no evidence to support its effectiveness in treating acne. While there are some acne preparations that include aloe vera as an ingredient, there have been no studies to show how much it helps heal or prevent acne.

Aloe vera is often used in the form of a topical gel or ointment as an aid in healing abrasions, cuts, burns and skin conditions. Studies show that it does have some positive healing effects when used topically. Because there is no concrete proof that it is beneficial for acne, people with acne should be cautious about using it for this purpose.
