Where can you find the American Legion membership application?

Obtain an American Legion application form from an American Legion post, or complete the form online at Legion.org. The membership eligibility requirements are also available at both locations. Give your completed paper application to a Legionnaire or a recruiter to be forwarded for processing.

Once you have submitted the application, the American Legion processes it at the national headquarters. If you are eligible for membership, you receive a membership card and other new member materials. You also receive a pewter pin with the emblem of your service branch, a monthly magazine and discounts on commercial items, including car rentals, home services, electronics, insurance and travel and lodging.
