Can anyone attend a repo car auction?

If a car auction is a public auction, anyone can attend, bid and buy. Most car auctions, however, are dealer auctions, which are only open to professionals in the car industry.
Though a buyer can get a good deal on a car at a public repo auction, there are a number of considerations to keep in mind. First, many cars at these auctions need expensive repairs that are not advertised before bidding begins. There are also no guarantees that a car in a repo auction runs or is in shape to drive distances. There is also limited knowledge available about the cars, and many of the cars at a public auction are those passed over at dealer auctions, so they may not be good investments.
