How can you apply for a SafeLink Wireless free phone?

Customers may apply for the SafeLink Wireless program directly on the company's website. In order to be approved, customers must meet the eligibility requirements.

Individuals who are at or below 135 percent of the federal poverty guidelines can apply for SafeLink service. Those receiving government benefits such as Medicaid, food stamps (SNAP), federal public housing assistance (Section 8) or supplemental security income (SSI) may also qualify.

Each state has slightly different eligibility requirements and SafeLink is not available in all states. Only one SafeLink phone can be obtained per household and if a family is receiving Lifeline service, they cannot obtain a SafeLink cell phone.
