Can bearded dragons play with cat toys?

A bearded dragon may play with a cat toy such as a ball, although this behavior varies by individual. Any toy given to the bearded dragon must be large enough to avoid fitting into its mouth, as accidental choking may result. Other activities, such as swimming, may be more appealing.

The bearded dragon belongs to the genus Pogona, for which it is also named. Pogona contains eight species of bearded dragons. The bearded dragon is native to Australia and lives in mostly arid environments. In captivity, the bearded dragon can reach 24 inches in length and can live as many as 12 years. The underside of the bearded dragon's throat contains numerous spines and turns black when the animal is stressed.
