Who can become a member of the National Honor Society?

Students can become members of the National Honor Society if they are in grades 10 through 12, maintain a cumulative grade point average equivalent to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, participate in leadership, demonstrate volunteer work and have a record of good behavior. Students should check with their school's local chapter to determine any additional requirements.
Only students who have schools with active National honor Society (NHS) chapters can become NHS members. Membership is based on four qualities: service, scholarship, character and leadership. Once members, students are expected to attend their chapter's meetings and be involved in service projects in their community and school.
