Where can you find a booklet on the 1040 form from the IRS?

The instruction booklet for the 1040 tax return form is available from the Internal Revenue Service website as a PDF download. Print copies of the booklet are available at post offices and public libraries, or taxpayers can request a copy by mail from the IRS.

On the website, users should click on Forms & Pubs in the top navigation to see a chart of Featured Forms & Publications. A link to the 1040 form appears on the left side of the chart, and a link to the instructions on the right. To obtain a copy by mail, taxpayers click on Order Forms & Pubs in the left navigation bar of the Forms & Pubs page, choose Forms and Publications by U.S. Mail, and follow the instructions.
