The kit available from Sundance Solar only takes about an hour to put together. Because of its small size, the kit is good for someone who wants to experiment or provide energy for a small source. The turbine has five blades that are 12 inches long, and the kit starts generating power when wind speeds reach 15 miles per hour. As of 2015, KidWind Power has several small wind generator kits available, including a MacGyver windmill kit, sail car kit, solar town kit and a solar fountain kit.
