Tim Smith's Climax Moonshine is available in limited quantity in certain ABC stores and specialty liquor stores, such as Libertine in Washington, Maryland. The distillery started selling moonshine in North Carolina and Georgia in the summer of 2013.

Since beginning its distribution in 2013, Tim Smith Moonshine sells its Climax Moonshine in 32 states, with nine states pending approval, as of 2015. The distillery originated in Climax, Virginia, but has since moved to Lebanon, Kentucky.
