How can you check your Esso Extra points balance?

Esso Extra members can check the points balance by looking on any printed purchase receipt. Users with a registered card and an online profile have access to points balances by logging in to the online account. RBC Esso Visa cardholders can check their monthly statements for points.

Esso Extra members earn points on every qualified purchase, but those points aren't available immediately for use. The points take approximately 72 hours to become available for redemption. The points earned on a purchase first show up as Points Earned This Purchase. Once the account updates, those points transfer to the Available Points category.

Users can log in at any time to see the up-to-date points balance. Members who don't already have an online account can create an online profile and connect the membership account to it for easy access to points balances. Statements for the RBC Esso Visa card only shows the balance for the previous month. Cardholders who only use the statement to check the balance won't have a regularly updated total.

When the user earns enough points, she can utilize the points to redeem rewards online, in stores or over the phone. The points used are subtracted from the total available points associated with the account.
