A food stamp recipient can check his food stamp balance online. Every state in the United States uses one of several online portal websites in order to allow recipients to keep track of their expenditures.

Once a recipient has received his EBT card for food stamps, he can create a login and access his food stamp account information to check his balance as well as see where he has shopped throughout the month. A word of advice: some of these interfaces do not work well with "saved" information or copied/pasted numbers, so it is best if users type in the full account number each time they access the portal.
