Can corns be surgically removed?

Corns can be surgically removed if other treatment methods fail, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Other treatment methods include shaving the top of the corn off or removing it with a pumice stone.
Most corns will eventually disappear when the pressure placed on the area is halted as stated by WebMD. A person can also use padding on the area where the corn occurs to help relieve the pressure which results in the corn. Sometimes, even when a corn is surgically removed, it can come back. If the corn becomes infected, it can be treated with oral antibiotics. Only a doctor should perform the surgery.
