Can CPVC cement be used on PVC pipe?
By Forinfos - 22/09/2025 - 0 comments
CPVC cement can be used on PVC pipe, although it is recommended to use the correct pipe cement for the pipe material. PVC-specific primer with PVC cement is a better option for PVC piping.
CPVC cement is used as a bonding agent for plumbing pipe and related fittings. It is best used with CPVC fittings, but is versatile enough to use with PVC materials. A more secure and stable bond can be formed by using cement engineered specifically for use on PVC, especially when combined with an appropriate primer. Due to temperature limitations, PVC solvent cement is not appropriate for use with CPVC piping.
