How can you create your own GIF?

To create a GIF file, open a new document in Photoshop, add a frame animation panel and add images to the frames. Save the file in GIF format to produce an animated image.

Adobe Photoshop is a handy tool for creating GIF files. To make a GIF in Photoshop, run through the following steps.

1. Open a new Photoshop project

Open Photoshop and create a new document.

2. Adjust the layers setting

Change the existing layer from a background layer to a regular layer. Alternately, add a new regular layer.

3. Adjust the Timeline settings

Set the Timeline panel to frame animation mode.

4. Add frames

To add frames, select a frame and duplicate it.

5. Add images to the frames

To add or change images in a frame, select the frame by clicking on it. To add or change images, edit the frame in the Layers panel.

6. Adjust the animation settings

Set the delay between frames by clicking the delay option in the pop-up menu. Set the looping options by selecting the looping options in the Timeline panel.

7. Save the file

To save the GIF, choose the option to save the file for web and select the GIF file format.
