As of 2015, the Delta Queen steamboat is in Houma, Louisiana is undergoing extensive mechanical and hotel restoration in preparation to be back in service in 2016. She did not meet requirements for carrying passengers overnight and was operating as a dockside hotel in Chattanooga, Tennessee from 2009 until 2014.
The American Queen, a more modern steamboat christened in 1995, is in operation and offers nine-night cruises departing from either New Orleans, Memphis or Nashville. Dates of departure and ports of call are provided by 1Cruise.com.
The Delta Queen was built in 1927, registered on the National List of Historic Places in 1970, and declared a National Historic Landmark in 1989.
