Can dogs eat scrambled eggs?

Dogs can safely eat scrambled eggs and even experience some health benefits from doing so. Eggs provide a healthy source of protein and 13 vitamins and minerals, as well as calcium if the shell is fed.

Dogs should only eat cooked eggs, because raw eggs pose a risk of salmonella or other foodborne illnesses. Eggs can be boiled, scrambled or lightly fried before consumption. If the shell is included, be sure to wash it thoroughly before feeding it to the dog to minimize ingestion of bacteria or other harmful pathogens. Three to four eggs per week are safe for most dogs without causing stomach upset.
