Can you eat fried tarantula?

According to CNN Travel, fried tarantulas can be eaten, and they are considered a delicacy in Cambodia. The spiders are seasoned with sugar, salt and garlic and then fried until they are crisp.

Cambodians began the practice of eating fried tarantulas under the Khmer Rouge rule in the 1970s. The people were starving and desperate for food, so they began to eat fried tarantulas to stave off hunger. Over the years, eating tarantulas has become common. Many Cambodians find them to be delicious, and some people believe that tarantulas provide beautifying effects for those that eat them. Fried tarantulas are plentiful in the market town of Skuon, due to its location near a network of tarantula burrows.
