What can you expect from basic training at Ft. Sill in Oklahoma?
By Forinfos - 11/10/2025 - 0 comments
People training at Fort Sill engage in physical training, marksmanship and camaraderie exercises, and participate in a three-day field retreat at Victory Forge at the end of training. Basic training takes 10 weeks and is followed by a graduation ceremony.
The cadet first goes through reception and then is assigned to a battalion and platoon. Most of the cadet's time is spent engaging in training exercises, which can include training with live hand grenades, marching and learning how to use live ammunition. The cadet is allowed to send and receive mail and may be allowed to use his cellphone occasionally, depending on the platoon's progress.
