An individual can also purchase a gold electroplating kit that contains all the necessary materials, even the gold plating solution. He places the metal to be plated in the metal salt solution, then attaches the negative electrode to the solution and the positive electrode to the gold plating. Once the battery is turned on, the positively charged gold plating attaches to the negatively charged metal.
