Where can you hunt wild boar in California?

Wild boar hunting in California is allowed on any public land administered by local, state or federal government agencies. As long as the hunter has the appropriate permit, there are very few other restrictions, as of 2015. Hunters can stalk wild boar on private land with the owner's permission.

Guide services and hunting charters give wild boar hunters access to private ranches and game herds. The season is open year around for wild boar since the pigs are considered a nonnative species. No hunting license is required, but hunters must have a depredation permit. There are basic depredation permits for standard daytime hunting as well as many specialty versions that allow other types of tactics and needs.
