Since 1997, the Navajo have allowed access to the canyon only on authorized guided tours, both to protect the canyon from overuse and vandalism and to ensure the safety of visitors. The Navajo Nation website includes a list of authorized Antelope Canyon tour guides and links to their websites, which provide more detailed information about the geographic and cultural history of the park as well as many dramatic photographs of the canyon.
