You can check the status of your National Visa Center case online through the U.S. Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC). To use the CEAC, enter your CEAC Barcode, as well as your visa case number or your interview location for nonimmigrant visa cases.
You may also check the status of your U.S. visa application by calling the National Visa Center. The correct number to call depends on whether you've applied for an immigrant or nonimmigrant visa. Immigrant visa applicants can call at phone number (603) 334-0700, while nonimmigrant visa applicants can call the phone number (603) 334-0888.
