According to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, dizziness can be symptomatic of a lack of iron. Dizziness is among the potential symptoms of all types of anemia, including the anemia that results from iron deficiency.

This source notes that iron-deficiency anemia can exist without producing symptoms if it is mild to moderate in nature. The symptoms that do appear can be mild, moderate or severe. Fatigue is the most common symptom. Along with dizziness and fatigue, possible symptoms of anemia include chest pain, cold hands and feet, headache, shortness of breath and weakness. Iron deficiency itself causes brittle nails, infections and swelling and soreness in the mouth. An eating disorder known as pica is also symptomatic of iron-deficiency anemia.
