Geckos can eat small amounts of fruits such as papaya, mango, apricot, peach and nectarines as often as twice a week. According to Doctor Frederick Frye, a well-known reptile pathologist, leopard geckos often eat small amounts of fruit in the wild.

Along with fruit, a gecko’s primary diet should include a meal that is high in fat with a variety of nutrients. Worms attract the attention of geckos, and even in the wild, the lizards seek out mealworms, wax worms, crickets and even silkworms. During mating season, pinkie mice can be given to female geckos to help them maintain a healthy weight.
