Can you live on Venus?

Barring unforeseen developments in technology, NASA indicates as of 2014 that it is impossible for humans to live on Venus for several reasons. Venus is the second-closest planet to the sun, which means humans would quickly burn on its surface. The thick air also prevents conventional human breathing.

The carbon dioxide and sulfur that constitute most of Venus' atmosphere are among the worst elements for humans to breathe. Even if one were to survive the temperature and thick air, the weight of the planet's atmosphere would crush the human body. Venus also contains a lot of active volcanoes and molten hot lava that would prohibit development of a civilization.
