Can you take free math courses online?

Free online math courses are available on MIT's and Alison's websites. MIT offers a wide variety of college-ranged math classes, and Alison offers classes including pre-algebra, fractions, and ACT and SAT mathematics preparatory courses.

MIT has a selection of OpenCourseWare and is committed to offering all of the materials needed to study any of the subjects its professors teach, from undergraduate to graduate classes, to as many people as possible. Its classes tend to be higher-level mathematics classes than those of Alison, which is focused more on professional development, with more courses in practical, everyday mathematics taught at the high school and undergraduate levels.
