Each book of hair color samples focuses on a particular Matrix brand. Some popular brands are SoColor, ColorGraphics Lacquer, GlossSync and ColorInsider. Each brand is either demi permanent, semi permanent or permanent dye. SoColor, for example, is a permanent cream.
