Can MDES weekly claim certifications be filed online?

Those receiving unemployment can file their Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES) weekly claim certifications online on the MDES website. To continue receiving unemployment benefits the MDES weekly claim certifications must be filed before 12:01 a.m. on Sunday of each week, as of 2015.

Part of the requirement to get unemployment benefits is that claimants must actively look for work and show that effort through their MDES weekly claim certifications. To file their certifications online claimants need to create an account at the MDES website. They will need to provide their Social Security number, name and date of birth as well as create a user name and password for logging in.
