A neck rash that presents on one side of the neck can be a symptom of shingles, according to Mayo Clinic. The shingles rash can appear anywhere on the body but only on either the right or left side of the body, states WebMD.
The shingles rash most often appears as a stripe of blisters that wraps around one side of the body, explains Mayo Clinic. The rash may appear on the face or around the eye, and this can cause permanent eye damage without medical care. Pain, burning, tingling and numbness precede the development of the rash. Some people also develop a fever, headache, sensitivity to light and fatigue.
