Can one use Bisquick instead of flour?
By Forinfos - 16/05/2025 - 0 comments
In most cases, Bisquick cannot be used as a direct substitute for flour because it has a variety of additive ingredients that may alter a recipe. For example, Bisquick includes salt, oil and other ingredients such as baking soda that may cause a recipe to turn out too salty or cause the recipe to have an incorrect proportion of leavening agents.
In addition to throwing off the proportion of ingredients such as salt and baking soda and adding in additional ingredients that may not be called for in a recipe, substituting Bisquick for flour may also cause a recipe to have too little flour itself. Because it contains other ingredients, a cup of Bisquick will have less flour than a cup of flour.
