SoundHound and Shazam are two apps that help people find out the singer of a particular song. SoundHound identifies the singer of a song from a rendition of the song sung or hummed by the user. Shazam listens to the audio of the song to identify the singer.

SoundHound and Shazam function by using the microphone on the user's computer or smartphone. SoundHound claims to be the only app in the world that identifies music with sing/hum search technology. Like Shazam, SoundHound can also identify music from the audio of the song. Both apps are downloadable for free in the Apple App store and the Google Play Store.
