Can you play a demo of "Left 4 Dead"?

The "Left 4 Dead" demo version is no longer available. Those who pre-ordered the game received the demo, but Valve disabled it after releasing the full version of the game.

Valve released the "Left 4 Dead" demo on Nov. 8, 2008. This version of the game included the first two chapters of the first campaign. Console commands and exploits allowed players to play as the infected, play as the AI director of the game, and use a split-screen setup in a PC. Valve disabled these features on Nov. 10, 2008 and retracted the demo version on November 17, upon full release of the game.
