Who is Smoker in "Left 4 Dead 2"?

The Smoker is a male Infected in "Left 4 Dead 2" who uses his long tongue to separate survivors from the group or choke them. When a Smoker dies, he releases a cloud of green smoke that obscures the players' vision.

The Smoker in "Left 4 Dead 2" usually appears in high locations, such as rooftops. He makes a coughing noise upon arrival. The Smoker launches his tongue out to grab survivors, drags them to him and claws them to death. Players can rescue captured teammates by killing the Smoker or snapping his tongue. The Smoker is a special Infected and inflicts twice the amount of damage as a regular Infected.
