Can rabbits eat tomatoes?

Rabbits can eat tomatoes, but they are not recommended as a main source of nutrition. Tomatoes are very high in sugar, and rabbits should only consume them in small amounts.
Rabbits should not consume any part of tomato plants. The leaves, vines and stems are toxic and can be harmful.
A rabbit's diet should consist of mostly green, leafy vegetables, which are low in calories and high in fiber. This includes cabbage, kale, radish tops, spinach, carrot leaves and romaine lettuce. Iceberg lettuce is not a good choice because it is not as nutritious. Stalks, such as celery, chard and broccoli, are also ideal for rabbits.
