Can you recycle microwave ovens?
By Forinfos - 04/07/2025 - 0 comments
Microwave ovens can and should be recycled when broken or being replaced. Microwave ovens and other appliances should not be disposed of in the trash.
Any devices, including microwave ovens, that plug in and require the use of electricity should be recycled. Broken electronics are classified as electronic waste and can harm the environment if placed in the trash.
Small appliances can be taken to a local recycling center, and most centers offer their electronics-disposal services free of charge. Some cities in the United States offer curbside pickup for recycling small appliances. If the microwave oven still works, it is advised that it be donated and not recycled.
