Local used appliance stores, trash disposal companies and local government agencies often accept broken or slightly damaged microwave ovens for recycling. Many computer recycling organizations also recycle large appliances such as microwave ovens and refrigerators. Some appliance repair shops even purchase old microwave ovens for a small price, as they can make use of their working parts or repair them to resell them later on.
