Can you renew a driver's license online?

In many states, a driver must renew a driver?s license in person and cannot renew it online or via mail. However, some states allow for online and mail renewals. Drivers should check with their state DMVs to determine if online renewal is available.

In Kentucky, drivers cannot review drivers? licenses online, but instead must visit the DMV in person and have a current photo taken for the license. In California, however, a driver may qualify for online renewals if the license is set to expire within 60 days, the driver is less than 70 years of age and the license is not suspended.
