Can you replace a laptop display screen?

It is possible to replace a laptop's display screen, but it is dangerous to attempt if you aren't familiar with the electronics inside the laptop. A laptop LCD screen is backlit by a powerful inverter that converts DC voltage to AC voltage, and can cause electrocution if mishandled.
To replace a laptop screen, disconnect the AC and the battery. Remove the bezel cover and screws, prying gently apart with a knife. Then, pull the video cable from the screen. To do this, you may need to remove tape and replace it afterward. Insert the video cable into the new screen, slot it into place, and replace the cover.
