To reserve a book online at the Chicago Public Library website, search or browse to find the desired book. The website displays how many copies of the book are available or on hold. Click Place a Hold and log in to reserve the book.
To browse for books, click Browse and select Books from the drop-down list. Pick a genre and select a book from the list. To search for a book, click Search in the top right corner of the website and enter a keyword, author, title or subject. If the book is not available, click Request an Interlibrary Loan at the bottom of the page and enter your personal information and book details.
