Where can you see a list of the official RRSP withdrawal rules?
By Forinfos - 26/11/2025 - 0 comments
The Canada Revenue Agency and RBC Royal Bank both provide listings of RRSP withdrawal rules on their websites, note the CRA and RBC Royal Bank. However, the listing on the CRA's website is more complete, offering subheadings for personal, spousal and unused contributions.
One important regulation regarding RRSP withdrawals has to do with withholding taxes. For people who live anywhere in Canada other than Quebec, the withholding ranges from 10 percent to 30 percent, depending on the size of the withdrawal. In Quebec, the range is between 21 and 31 percent. People withdrawing funds receive a T4 RRSP receipt to facilitate filing taxes the following year, notes RBC Royal Bank.
